The wait is over.  After a year of construction, the Coghlans have finally opened their tasting room in the charming town of Los Olivos.  With a unique take on wine and art combined, this young, power couple of gems, have created an enchanting tasting room for their guests to come and savor their wines all the while being delighted by the luxurious surroundings.  The walls and cabinets are distressed white and blue tones filled with interesting hand-made jewelry set with exotic stones, the main bar a hand painted beauty, and the exterior as inviting as the interior with porches lined with cushioned seating, giant oak trees, and an ever-so-fun bocce ball court.

In addition to being certified gemologists with a knack for a stylish motif, this couples steadfast ambition was an integral part of inventing this hip tasting room featuring both wine and jewelry.  After moving to the area and purchasing an established vineyard in Happy Canyon, the Coghlans didn’t wait long until embarking on their own wine-making adventures.  They hired Alan Philips (who also has his own label Fontes-Phillips about to open right next door) as head winemaker to produce their debut vintages, and hope to someday be fully involved in the winemaking process.

Among the line-up of introductory wines is a delightful Grenache Blanc, sourced from Camp 4 Vineyard, loaded with minerality and crisp green apple flavors as well as a large, mouth-filling Pinot Noir from La Encantada Vineyard in the St. Rita Hills.

The tasting room is open Thursday – Monday from 11-5 and you can reach them at 805.686.2395.
